December’s wellness document is focused on practicing gratitude during the holidays. Research has shown that consciously practicing gratitude can reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. Studies have found that a single act of thoughtful gratitude produces an immediate 10% increase in happiness and a 35% reduction in depressive symptoms.
The holidays seem to pass by so quickly for so many reasons, it may be due to worrying about finding everyone the perfect gift and making sure everything is perfect, or making sure you find time to see everyone that you care about, that we can often forget to slow down and be grateful for what is happening around us.
